Sustainable food means:

Access for all to affordable, nutritious and sustainably produced food.

Supporting the rights of workers throughout the food production process.

Community food production, and local sustainable food production and employment.

Reducing food waste and food packaging; increasing composing and recycling.

Ensuring food production conserves natural resources, and protects ecosystems.
Cambridge Sustainable Food is a hub for all the individuals and organisations committed to working together towards a more sustainable food system in the Cambridge area. There are over 50 organisational members, including Cambridge City Council, Anglia Ruskin University Catering Department, colleges, schools, businesses, NGOs and community groups.

Cambridge Cropshare is a community supported agriculture scheme in Cambridge. Volunteers share land with local Cambridge farms in return for sharing crops. There are regular organized volunteer group trips. Facebook Page

Cambridge Foodcycle collects surplus produce from local supermarkets, farmer’s markets, and Cambridge Cropshare every week for free community meals served weekly by volunteers. Facebook Page
