Homelessness is rising nationwide , and in Cambridge has one of the highest densities of homeless people.

A number of homelessness charities provide emergency and temporary shelter, Cambridge hub have produced a guide which includes

Wintercomfort - services for rough sleepers
Jimmies - homeless accommodation and support
Cambridge Cyrenians - homeless housing and support
Cambridge Churches Homelessness Project - emergency winter shelters
StreetAid - council-run charity that gives grants to homeless people
Streetbite - provides food to people on the streets
CHOP - student group that collects donations for homeless people
FoodCycle - free community meal for vulnerable people on Saturday

Many of these charities need money and volunteers. Wintercomfort also seeks donations of sleeping bags, warm clothing including jackets, fleeces, hoodies, jeans, socks, new pants & jogging bottoms.
House prices and rents in Cambridge are amongst the highest in country.
