Refugees and Asylum
There is a very large number of organisations working with migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in and around Cambridge. Please see our list of organisations for all the details. Here we want to profile two groups in the process of being established (and not yet on the list!):

1. Movement for Justice - a national group that campaigns against detention centres and works on individual asylum cases in a very practical capacity. A new group is being set up in Cambridge, at the moment through Cambridge mobilise against Yarl's Wood - follow that group for updates!

2.Refugee Lifeboat is the new, Cambridge branch of an organisation that takes trips to Calais, bringing donations of bedding, phone credit, clothes and other vital supplies, and supports the refugee community there in various ways, both practical and political. New members are very welcome to help take the direction of the organisation further - possibly with new trips to Lesbos coming up in the next year. Details of regular meetings will be posted on our facebook site soon! In the meantime, if you have any donations, please get in touch via the site.
